Monday 7th September sees the great and the good of those involved with the business of football converge on Manchester for the Soccerex Global Convention 2015.
Manchester Central exhibition centre once again hosts the event which could shape the future of the game that we watch, play, and love. All the key issues of the day will be discussed, alongside the various clubs, companies, entrepreneurs, agencies and charities vying for attention and displaying their wares.
Highlights of the three day convention include a headline speech by Prince Ali Bin Al Hussein, President of Jordan FA and West Asian Football Federation. He is FIFA Vice President and initially challenged Sepp Blatter in the presidential elections last May and will be discussing the future of football.
La Liga president Javier Tebas is also in attendance – he will be talking about the “collective strength” of La Liga. Others include ex-players such as Davor Suker, Gaizka Mendiata, Michael Owen and Sir Bobby Charlton.
From a fan perspective, numerous workshops focusing on fan engagement – particularly through social media – will be taking place. Experts in this field include Alex Trickett, Head of Sport at Twitter UK.
